Email SMTP Institution Settings
The Email SMTP screen contains institution settings
The fields on the General (Cross-System) screen are described in the following table.

| Default email address preference | The default learner email address to send correspondence to in the Correspondence Wizard. |
| From email address | The ‘From’ e-mail address to be used when sending emails. |
| From email display name | The default 'From' email display name. You can override this field manually if required in the relevant workflow. |
| Reply To email address | The default 'Reply To' email address. You can override this field manually if required in the relevant workflow. |
| Reply To email display name | The default 'Reply To' email display name. You can override this field manually if required in the relevant workflow. |
| Email button behaviour | The behaviour to be used when the Email Learner button is clicked. |
| SMTP mail server for sending emails | The full path to the SMTP mail server for sending emails. |
| SMTP mail server port | The SMTP mail server port. |
| SMTP mail server uses SSL | Whether the SMTP mail server uses SSL. |
| SMTP mail server username | The SMTP mail server username used to send email. The username is required, but it's only used if a password is provided. If a password is provided, it's validated. |
| SMTP mail server password | The password used by the SMTP mail server to send email. |
| SMTP application authentication type | The authentication type, that is Basic authentication or OAuth. |
| SMTP application OAuth credential type | The OAuth credential type, that is Certificate password or Client secret. |
| SMTP application directory tenant Id | The tenant ID from Microsoft Entra ID, such as 783901c40-15ca-4cd7-938f-4960a2cb0654. |
| SMTP application registration client Id | The application client ID from Microsoft Entra ID, such as 54124d50-17bc-4ef7-049f-5071b2cd1824. |
| SMTP application OAuth permissions scopes | The OAuth permission scopes from Exchange Online or Office 365, such as https://outlook.office365.com/.default. |
